This mezzanine board provides a full-duplex, balanced
CEPT-E1 interface for the VME6U6.
Alternate Mark Inversion (AMI/HDB3) and NRZ interfaces
are supported with the necessary electrical isolation and
protection circuits.
The NRZ interface is optically isolated balanced
differential compatible with RS422 and MIL STD-188-114.
The NRZ data rate is externally determined (up to 4
Mbps).
Incoming E1 data is demultiplexed and placed on the
TDM subsystem on a time-slot by time-slot basis. Data
taken from the TDM subsystem is multiplexed onto the
outgoing E1 data stream. The host application determines
the TDM configuration allowing the DSP32Cs to read and
write E1 data without having to be aware of the E1
framing format. In addition to the standard 2.048 MHz E1
rate, TDM clock rates of 4.096 or 8.192 MHz can be locked
to the E1 frame rate, providing higher TDM bandwidths.
The 6UE1D includes a TDM expansion interface to link
clusters of VME6U6 boards on their own TDM bus. Each
cluster is controlled by its own tdm map as it routes
data among its dsps and their resources. The 6ue1D
bridges these local tdm buses on a time-slot basis.
