If you require a higher quality audio interface than
that available from our 6UC12 or 9UC12 boards, the HC12
mezzanine boards, with Crystal Semiconductor CS4216
stereo audio codecs, for the VME6U6
and VME9U12 were designed
for your application. They provide 12 input and 12 output
channels of high quality audio with programmable sample
rates up to 48 kHz and programmable resolution and
compression. The input anti-aliasing and output
reconstruction filters of the CS4216 codecs automatically
track the sample rate. Input gains and output
attenuations are programmable from either the host system
or from the DSP32Cs via the TDM subsystem.
Programmable resolution and compression modes are
16-bit linear, 8-bit linear, 8-bit uLaw compression
(13-bit resolution) and 8-bit ALaw (12-bit resolution.)
Standard programmable sample rates are 8, 9.6, 12, 16,
19.2, 24, 32 and 48 kHz. Please call for availability of
custom sample rates.
Balanced input and output analog signals are brought
out on two 40-pin ribbon cable connectors. These
connections are compatible with our patch panels. Frequency
response is 10 Hz to 20 kHz (+/- 0.5 db). Dynamic range
is 82 db (using 16-bit linear resolution) with full scale
input and output voltage of 5.76 Vpp. Total harmonic
distortion is 0.01% input and 0.025% output.
