ADPCM
The IMG726 is a smPCITM
interface module which performs voice coding and decoding
per the G.726 standard on up to 128 duplex channels.

ADPCM smPCI Module
ADPCM, or Adaptive Differential Pulse-Code Modulation, compresses
64kbps digitized voice down to 16, 24, 32 or 40kbps,
software selectable on a per channel and direction basis.
Data input from the TDM bus timeslots is converted by a
Brooktree BT8110 and is rerouted back through the TDM.
The IMG726-64 handles 64 duplex channels and can be
upgraded in the field to an IMG726-96 or IMG726-128.
