The module is available with either a 175 or 200MHz processor.
The 175MHz version costs less and consumes less power so as to
make it possible to populate a V6M6
with 6 processors. Only five of the 200MHz processors can be
use on one board.
The module can be ordered with a connector to the
processor's RS232 port for debugging purposes. This 5-pin
0.1" latching Molex connector is accessed through the front panel
which restricts its placement on the V6M6 baseboard
to sites A and C.
The R4700 processor implements the full MIPS R4000
instruction set and features:
- 64-bit floating-point unit
- 32 orthogonal 64-bit registers
- memory management unit
- 32kB 2-way set associative, write-back cache
