DSP32C on S-Bus

The SB32C2 combines DSPs, memory, and I/O on a single Sbus board for audio and T1/E1 telecom applications. Available with either one or two Lucent DSP32C processors, the SB32C2 comes with 512kB zero wait-state SRAM and two audio channels per DSP. An optional mezzanine card can be added which provides a full-duplex T1 or E1 interface.

S-Bus Interface
The S-Bus bus interface supports both master and slave 32-bit operations. DMA transfers to and from the DSP's memory are sustained at a 3.5 MByte/sec rate.

Software
Sun OS and Solaris drivers, the D3BUG debugger, audio demos and an SBE1/T1 API are provided with the SB32C2. Lucent software tools are available for DSP code development.

Audio Channels
Two Crystal Semiconductor CS4216 16-bit codecs provide a total of four CD quality audio input/output channels. Physical connection is made by the 3.5mm audio jacks on the backplate. The sampling rate (7.35 to 48 kHz), input gain (0 to +22.5 db), and output attenuation (0 to -46.5 db) are software programmable via both the host and DSP control. Each codec is connected to one DSP's serial port. However, a software programmable feature enables both codecs to be connected to a single DSP in a Y-configuration. An on-board audio loopback can be programmed for diagnostics. The sigma-delta A/D converters feature 64 times oversampling and linear phase digital anti-aliasing filters. The output sigma-delta modulator features 8X interpolation filters and 16-bit resolution. These filters automatically track the programmable sampling rate.

CBL-SMB/TRIAX-6
This six inch cable adapts the SMB connectors of the SBE1 endplate to a triax connector. The cable is also available in an eight inch length to avoid possible shorting of the six inch cable connector ground shields when used in pairs.
