CAC DPT Release 0.95
===============================================================================

This package provides the drivers and APIs for Communication Automation
Corporation (CAC) desktop PCI products. Please see the file LICENSE for details
on your rights regarding use and modification of this software.

The file INSTALL contains information on the configuration and installation
of this software. To install in the default locations (/usr/cac) do:
	# cd $BUILDDIR
	# zcat dpt-0.95.tar.gz | tar xvf -
	# cd dpt-0.95
	# ./configure
	# make all
	# make check
	# make install
	# make install-drv
You will need to be root to install the device driver.

If you want to install into a different location use the --prefix option to 
configure. For example, to install into /opt/cac do:
	# ./configure --prefix=/opt/cac
All other commands remain the same.

Man pages are installed in ${prefix}/man by default. To install into a
different locations use the --mandir option to configure. For example, to
install the software into /usr/cac and the man pages into /usr/local/man do:
	# ./configure --mandir=/usr/local/man

The installation directories are:
	$prefix/bin	- binaries including diagnotics and demos
	$prefix/include	- header files needed to interface with the DPT library
	$prefix/lib	- the DPT library: libdp.a

This release has been tested on the following platforms:

Either Sun or GNU tools should work equally well.
