Patch files for Empack OEM Key What is Provided by this Patch? ------------------------------- This patch provides a method to enable customers to modify ceratin Empack serialization data using the emserial program and to update the boot-strap embedded code in flash memory using the emflash program. Those programs require an "OEM Key" to be present on the system in order to edit or update certain configuration options that are normally performed by the manufacturer. On Windows systems, the "OEM Key" is stored in the system registry. This patch provides a Windows registry file that is used to add the key to the registry. On Solaris systems the "OEM Key" is stored in a specific file in the CAC library directory. This patch provides a shell script to create that file. For downloading the patch from the cacdsp WEB site, archive files for Solaris (oempatch.tar.gz) and Windows (oempatch.zip) are provided. Both archives include the patch files for both Solaris and Windows systems. Installing the Patch -------------------- The files required for the patch should be contained in the same directory or folder as this "readme" file. They are: cac_oemkey.reg - Windows registry file. cac_oemkey.sh - Unix shell file to create the key file. For Windows systems, double-click on the cac_oemkey.reg file. This will add the required registry key to your system. For Solaris systems, run the shell script to create the key file. Note that the shell script requires a CAC environment variable to specify the location of the Empack software installation. Some installations may not have this environment variable set. In this case, you can edit the shell script. It contains commented commands to set the CAC variable. Uncomment and edit those lines to define the variable to the location of the Empack software before executing the script.
