Overview
The following changes are introduced in this release:
Note: This release includes new embedded code. Customers must run dpflashup after installation to receive the full benefit of this update. It will be necessary to cycle power on the system after updating the flash.
Currently, the Forte C compiler from Sun Microsystems is required to compile the driver for use in a 64-bit system (see below).
These drivers can be installed without having to be compiled on the target system provided the target system matches the pre-built driver architecture and operating system version. The pre-built drivers in this release are:
| pcie1drv_sparc64 | built for Solaris 2.7, Sparc (sun4u) architecture, 64-bit kernel |
| pcie1drv_sparc32 | built for Solaris 2.7, Sparc (sun4u) architecture, 32-bit kernel |
| pcie1drv_intel32 | built for Solaris 2.8, Intel architecture, 32-bit kernel |
Pre-built drivers may work for systems of the same kernel address space but a different version of Solaris or architecture. However, CAC has not tested it in that environment. If you require a pre-built driver for a different combination of architecture and operating system version contact CAC.
To use a pre-built driver use the --with-prebuilt_driver option on the configure command line. See the installation instructions for more information.
Once a directory has been configured to use a pre-built driver you will need to rerun the configure command without the --with-prebuilt_driver option if you later decide have the driver compiled locally.
See the installation instructions for more information.
Several bug fixes are included in this version of the Windows 2000 DPT4 device driver.
