Overview

Release 3.5.1 of the Empack software includes Version 3.5.1 of the host libraries and programs and Version 3.5.0 of the Embedded Firmware and FPGA configurations.

The following changes are introduced in this release:

• Bug fixed in the emscp diagnostic program.

• Changes to other diagnostic programs.

• Component versions for this release.

Note:

This release only includes updates for the diagnostic programs described below. The API library, device drivers, embedded code and FPGA configurations are unchanged from release 3.5.0.

Bug Fixed in the emscp Diagnostic Program

The emscp diagnostic program is fixed so that the -i option works properly with EM6XC33 DSP mezzanines. Previously, the -i option had no effect which would cause the program to run forever. This problem, in turn, caused the emdiag program to time out waiting for the "Codec Noise Test" to complete.

The C33 DSP code, c33emscp (used by the emscp program) is fixed to not initialize global variables that the host downloads values for.

The emscp host program is fixed to get the proper address for the DSP's global variable for the expected maximum noise value.

Changes to Diagnostic Programs

The emchip program is modified to report the number of times a DSP interrupt could not be cleared instead of reporting each occurrence.

The emburn program now issues a warning is the user requested burn-hours be updated in the EEROM but the OEM key was not found.

New options for the emfft program allow specific input and output level settings to be tested and to reverse the order in which test frequencies are assigned to the codec channels.

Fixed bugs in the memory test routines of the emdsptest program.

Component Versions for This Release

The Empack API software release includes several components of software and hardware FPGA configurations. All the components have the same major and minor version numbers. However the update version number of each component may vary depending on the number of changes and iterations each component has gone through between general distribution releases.
