Overview

Release 3.5.2 of the Empack software includes Version 3.5.1 of the host libraries and programs and Version 3.5.0 of the Embedded Firmware and FPGA configurations.

The following changes are introduced in this release:

• Update for Windows 2003 EMAPI installer.

• Component versions for this release.

Note:

The only change in this release from the previous version is a new Windows installer, described below. The software installed is unchanged from release 3.5.1.

Update for Windows 2003 EMAPI Installer

The installation package for Windows is fixed to install the ASPI DLL file in the correct Windows system directory for Windows 2003.

Although the ASPI code is not used for Windows 2000 or Windows 2003, the DLL file must be present on the system. If the installer does not find the DLL file on the system it will ask the user if it should be installed. If the user lets the installer include the file it will be installed in the System32 directory of the system's "windir" directory (e.g. c:\winnt\system32 on Windows 2000 or c:\windows\system32 on Windows 2003). If not, the installer will install the DLL file in the "bin" directory of the Empack installation direcotry (e.g. c:\cac\bin) where it can be found when Empack programs are run.

Component Versions for This Release

The Empack API software release includes several components of software and hardware FPGA configurations. All the components have the same major and minor version numbers. However the update version number of each component may vary depending on the number of changes and iterations each component has gone through between general distribution releases.
