These instructions describe how to update your software for the SB32C2 by downloading new version from our FTP and WWW server. For complete installation instructions please refer to section 2 of the SB32C2 Reference Manual.

Selecting the Download link from the previous page will take you to a directory containing SB32C2 Software Distributions. Select the directory for the version you wish to download. The files in those directories are in compressed tar format.

Download the archive files required for your installation and place them into your $CAC directory. For each file, uncompress and extract the archive. For example:

compress -d sbdsp_version.tar
tar xf sbdsp_version.tar
or:
zcat sbdsp_version.tar.Z | tar xf -

At this point, continue with Step 3 of the installation instructions in the SB32C2 Reference Manual.

Distributions consist of 3 archive files. The files you need to obtain depend on whether or not you wish to use the SBD3BUG debugging tool and which operation system you are using. The archive files are:

Host Support Software

sbdsp_version.tar.Z

Required for all installations.

This archive contains the host support software for the SB32C2 including:
• Unix device drivers for SunOS 4.1.x and Solaris 2.x
• Host application library
• Support and diagnostic programs
• SBT1 and SBE1 mezzanine API packages

sbdsp_vers_to_vers.tar.Z

To update from previous version.

In some cases the changes form one version to the next may involve only a few new or modified files. For such updates a much smaller file may be available for downloading. If you have already installed the previous full release you may download the update archive and extract it, just as you would the full release, in the same directory to add or replace the new files.

sbd3bug_version_sun.tar.Z	for sbd3bug on SunOS 4.1.x.
sbd3bug_version_sol.tar.Z	for sbd3bug on Solaris 2.x.

These archives include the files required to install and run the source-level debugger, d3bug, for the SB32C2 board.

sbe1t1api_version.tar.Z

For SB32C2 SBE1 and SBT1 Mezzanines.

This software component is now distributed as part of the core software for the SB32C2. Updates to the SBE1 and SBT1 API between revisions of the core software are made available in the sbe1t1api subdirectory of the SB32C2 ftp directory.
