These instructions describe how to update your software for the VME6U6 and VME9U12 by downloading new version from our FTP and WWW server. The distribitions and instructions are intended for SunOS 4.1.x or Solaris 2.x installations. For DG/UX or LynxOS versions of the software, please contact CAC at 1-800-367-6735.

Selecting the Download link from the previous page will take you to a directory containing VME6U6 / VME9U12 Software Distributions. This link will take you to the directory fo rthe current software revision. The files in those directories are in compressed tar format.

Download the archive files required for your installation and place them into your $CAC directory. For each file, uncompress and extract the archive.

compress -d cacdsp_version.tar
tar xf cacdsp_version.tar

zcat cacdsp_version.tar.Z | tar xf -

In either case, version is replaced by the release version number.

Once the distribution has been unpacked, cd to the dsp directory and run:

make OS=os CC=compiler install

os is replaced with either SUNOS or SOLARIS
compiler is replaced with your compiler (e.g. gcc)
